Management of Crop Phosphate fertilization in West European Countries

This IMPHOS workshop was held in connection with the Third International Crop Science Congress that took place in Hamburg, 17-22 August 2000, and whose proceedings are now available under the title " Crop Science : Progress and prospects ", edited by J. Nösberger, H.H. Geiger and P.C. Struik.

The following papers were presented at the workshop, reflecting results of years of research conducted by IMPHOS in a project covering several countries of Western Europe:

	IMPHOS work on phosphorus fertilization in Western Europe
	Fate of phosphorus in soil
	Crop response to phosphorus
	Routine soil tests methods and sequential fractionation of soil phosphorus
	Changes in P status and crop responses in Broom's Barn
	Long-term experiments

The above papers discussed data and information available and compiled under a separate evaluation report entitled : "The Effect of Phosphate Fertilizer Management Strategies on Soil Phosphorus Status and Crop Yields in Some European Countries ", edited by A. E. Johnston, P.A. I. Ehlert, M. Kuecke, B. Amar, K.W. Jaggard and C. Morel.
