The World Phosphate Institute in collaboration with the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Federal and Provincial Research Institutes in Pakistan and the Fertilizer Industry has planned to organize two days symposium on “Balanced Fertilization : Impact on Crop Production and Fertilizer Use” at Islamabad from October 30 to 31, 2006.
The two days proposed symposium will focus on the following issues:
Fertilizer use in Asia : present and future trends
Prospects for agriculture production and fertilizer use in Pakistan – 2020/2030
Balanced fertilization practices for increased crop production and farmers incomes
Constraints to balanced fertilizer use practices
Measures to improve balance fertilizer use, efficiency and crop productivity
international participation is expected from The International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), The International Potash Institute (IPI) and Kali and Salz, etc. Country papers on balanced fertilization practices will also be presented from India, Vietnam, China and Indonesia.
